Basic Job Functions:
The primary role of the IT Lead is to create a vision for the future of technology at Vulcraft Indiana, align the leadership and plant teams to the vision and execute on the vision. Recommend improvements, solutions and vendors to address network and our future automation plans. Improvement and solutions facilitate communication between the BPC group (centralized, shared-service IT) and our local division. The successful candidate will lead the IT team and vendors in order to improve cost effectiveness, quality of service, and other business objectives. Have the willingness to be both hands-on and strategic. And ability to build trust and influence the adoption of appropriate technologies to create competitive advantage.
Occasional travel to the Vulcraft-Indiana sales offices and other Nucor divisions will be required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in IT
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of network infrastructures.
Hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
Vendor management experience.
Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and plant automation.
Experience in project management: planning, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of moderately complex client/server systems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
